Monthly Speaker Meetings
Each monthly meeting includes an educational speaker presenting topics related to current trends in photography. Potential speakers are carefully selected for their photography expertise and presentation skills. Some of the meetings may include “open critiques” of member’s images, or critiques by the judges of the BPG Fall Exhibition that is displayed in the museum’s Borderlands Gallery. “Kathrin Federer – Creating a Winter Wonderland in Photoshop”
PRESENTATION
Kathrin Federer, also known as Kat, combines digital art and photography to create unique imaginary worlds. This gives her the opportunity to create realities that cannot be achieved with “ordinary” photography. Most of her work is like a trip to places that do not, but might exist – places of her dreams, desires, imagination and pursuit of perfection. Her digital creations will take you away from the mundane world, to one of mystery, wonder and seduction. Emotion and sensibility graze the soul, sometimes kissed by a touch of humor. Kat is a member of the Adobe Influencer Group DACH.During her presentation, Kat will discuss her brainstorming techniques and how she develops ideas. Using her artwork “A Piece of Winter” (pictured below), she will walk us through her process live in Photoshop and demonstrate the tools she uses. Join us for this interesting presentation!
Over the years, Hobart’s work has been featured in numerous magazines and has been exhibited by National Geographic, Nikon USA, The Booth Western Art Museum and the Smithsonian Museum.
Join the BPG on Saturday to enjoy this very entertaining photographer.
